Kaoru Zaizen (財前 かおる, Zaizen Kaoru) is the deuteragonist of the series Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun.
Introduction
A rich kid who was the playmaker before Aoyama arrived, he is the eldest known child of the extremely rich Zaizen family which consists of himself, his parents and younger sister.
He can be spoiled at times, like when he is gifted a pair of brand-new cleats, takes his clothes to the washers, calling his father "Daddy" and his mother "Mommy". However, he has a very strong fighting spirit and a desire to win the games he plays.
Kaoru is not very good at shooting, but gets better after being coached by Moka Gotou. Still, he struggles with scoring half the goals that he shoots without any defense.
While Kaoru is put off by Aoyama's ways, he tries to put in the effort to become better teammates though gets irritated with Aoyama's germaphobia. However, it is shown he really respects Aoyama since the latter has helped him on occasion and gets Kaoru to his senses when he feels down.
Etymology
- Kaoru's surname Zaizen means "goods, fortune, wealth, assets" (財) (zai) and "previous, before" (前) (zen).
